South Africans against Israel
Azmi Bishara, a former member of Israel’s Knesset for the Arab nationalist party, Balad, kicked off “Israel Apartheid Week 2008″ in Soweto, South Africa. Ben Cohen, editor of Z Word, points out that this is a major PR accomplishment for the Palestinians, since South Africans in particular should be able to differentiate between Israeli policies and apartheid. In apartheid South Africa blacks were of course not part of the government as Azmi Bishara was. But let’s not confuse them with the facts…

The truth about jews is that they are iraqis. Am I right? Hebrews originate from Iraq, as Abraham from Ur, and then they moved to Israel and settled down (some of them) but most of them were inhabitants of Mesopotamia.

Abraham did indeed originate from the area we now call Iraq. According to the Bible, he settled in Israel and his descendants went down to Egypt where they were enslaved. They then returned to Israel and settled there as a nation.
