John Strugnell Dies at 77

Dead Sea Scrolls scholar John Strugnell died on Nov. 30 at the age of 77.  Strugnell began work on the scrolls team at the age of 23 and advanced to chief editor.  He was forced to resign after making anti-Semitic comments to a reporter, caused by alcoholism and manic depression.  Despite the controversy, John Strugnell was a major contributor to the field of Dead Sea Scrolls.
