Jewish Colonial Trust

On March 20, 1899, Herzl established the Jewish Colonial Trust in London.  The Jewish Colonial Trust was the first Zionist bank. It acted as the financial institution of the Zionist Organization. In 1902, it founded the Anglo-Palestine Company and in 1951 the bank’s name was changed to Bank Leumi Le-Israel (National Bank of Israel).
