A Jew in Afghanistan
There is apparently one Jew left in Afghanistan. He serves as caretaker of an empty synagogue in Kabul. Oliver Englehart spoke to him in his home and the video is on the New York Times website. The Afghani Jews trace their roots in Afghanistan back to 722 BCE, when the northern tribes of Israel were exiled. Afghanistan is yet another Muslim country which has succeeded in liquidating its entire Jewish community.
