Jews and Christian Zionists

James Wilson points out that American Jews don’t support evangelical Christians who support them and Israel.  On the other hand, they do support the African-American community which is more likely to be anti-semitic.  According to Wilson this is because liberal Jews are fearful of conservative views, and this fear supersedes concerns for Israel.  He concludes:

When it comes to helping secure Israel’s survival, the tiny Jewish minority in America should not reject the help offered by a group that is ten times larger and whose views on the central propositions of a democratic society are much like everybody else’s.
